French Onion Soup

How to make french onion soup at home

Classic, simple and very tasty #homemade french onion soup recipe. Nothing fancy but traditional taste. The same taste for ages. How to make #frenchonionsoup Slice onions thinly. It may seem like you have plenty but to your surprise three big onions will only make two soup servings

The Recipe:

Melt butter and olive oil in a stock pot. Add onions and stir frequently on a medium heat, add salt and thyme. Continue stirring the onions until they browned and reduced significantly. Add flour and wine, stir until evaporates. Stirring is very big in this recipe. Pour in some broth/stock, wait until reduced and add the rest of the broth/stock Meanwhile heat oven to 380F Shred some cheese and slice baguette As you see the soup getting thick enough transfer it to oven bowls Put a slice of baguette on top of the soup and sprinkle with cheese Broil for 10 minutes I use thyme for presentation at serving.

Enjoy!
